Mane Adige: Thambittu ( Wheat-Jaggery Dumplings)

Mane Adige: Thambittu ( Wheat-Jaggery Dumplings)
Hi Ramya,
I have recently been addicted to mane adige.
I love all the snaps of the recipes. They look beautiful.
I tried maddur vade from ur recipe & it turned really good.
It tasted the same as we get in maddur near mandya.
I would like to suggest small variation of thambittu. This is done with kadlepappu or hurigadle powder.
My mom is the best at doing this. Its very soft any time u eat.I remember other bangaloreans doing rice thambittu for which they needed a stone to break it to pieces. U could not bite it too. It would be very hard. But, this one is very soft every time.
Make kadlepappu powder. Keep aside jaggery syrup. The consistency should be like its sticky.
Add some cardamom powder to the jaggery syrup. Some grated dry coconut to the pappu powder.
Add little by little jaggery syrup & bind the powder well until u can make them into small round balls.
